We’re Fishing Tomorrow…Join Us!

The weather has been amazing with blue skies and a clear forecast.

We have some space available for tomorrow’s (4/20…I know, I know) charter! It’s time to take advantage of our early season specials…call 907-440-9510 and get Capt. Matt back on the water, doing the job he loves best!

Getting Back in the Water

Well, the Great Alaska Sportsman Show is over and fishing season is officially here. All and all, we had an awesome time. It’s always nice to reconnect with everyone after the long winter months, to hear what’s new and put plans in motion. This season officially marks our 19th (or is it actually the 20th?!) anniversary of operation and we are all set for Prince William Sound!

Boat Rental Manager, Greg Clifford, brought his young daughter, McKinley, to the arena. As you can plainly see, she wasted no time showing everyone how it’s done with the little Fishing Pond!

We also got the chance to view the new boats offered by Peregrine Falcon. Just incredible workmanship offered by an equally incredible crew.  Can’t help but admire their dedication all the more…the weather in the lot was pretty miserable, but they just kept laughing, never letting the clouds and wind get the better of them.

Thanks again for all the questions and interest! Spaces and dates are filling fast, but we are still offering a few shoulder season SPECIALS on charters, overnight trips and rentals. Looking forward to getting the boats back on the water within the next week or so. If the Whittier snow ever decides to show mercy and ease up! (Can’t complain too much…we’ve had a break for the past few years, but this time around, winter’s seriously trying to hang on.)

The Great Alaska Sportsman Show!

Well, last weekend we had an amazing time participating in the Homer Winter King Tournament. We didn’t get our lines on any money fish, but got a wonderful fresh seafood dinner out of the deal! Our son Macen, Junior-Captain-in-Training ™, spent hours learning the controls while trolling The Lucky Strike.

This coming weekend we will be at the Sullivan Arena (March 30th – April 2nd), all ready to talk charters and boat rentals at The Great Alaska Sportsman Show. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Let us help you put together the trip of a lifetime on Prince William Sound!

Yep, fishing season is upon us…

Thank You!

Thank you to EVERYONE who stopped by our booth at the Anchorage Boat Show this weekend…it was great to chat with you all and we look forward to seeing you on the water this summer.

All ready for the doors to open…
Plenty of coffee at hand!

And, of course, we need to offer a major kudos and thanks to Boat Rental Manager, Greg Clifford, who made the drive out from Whittier! We’d also like to express our gratitude to the great team at Peregrine Falcon Boats, builders of the Meagan Anne and the Elaine C. Can’t wait to meet up again…

The 2017 IPHC conference is coming to a close.

Charter management measures for 3A:

1.To finish daily bag limit
2. Maximum size of one fish under 28 inches
3. One fish of any size.
4. Each vessel is limited to one trip in the calendar day.
5. A CHP permit is limited to one trip in the calendar day
6. No halibut Charters on Wednesdays for the entire year.
7. No halibut Charters on Tuesday, July 18, 25, and August 1 of 2017
8. 4 fish annual bag limit.

Even though we lost three more days for the season the stock continues to show signs of recovery and for area 3A we did get about a 500,000 pound bump

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year and thank you for your support in the past. The season is only four months away! Choice dates are filling, so drop us a line if you’d like to reserve space. Although we may have some extra “no halibut” days in July, the regulations will remain the same as in 2016. I’ll post an update as soon as we hear something from the IPHC. We’ll be starting as soon as the weather breaks with our spring special trips and there is no better time to fill the freezer for a great price. Whether you choose a day trip or an overnighter, rates are cut deeply through May 15. Call anytime for more info.
